Veggie-Friendly Restaurants Everywhere

It’s easy being vegan ’cause there are veggie-friendly restaurants all over the place.

Tips for Locating Veg-Friendly Restaurants

Where I’ve been this year:

Blind Faith (Evanston, IL)
Bombay Spice (Chicago. Also in Phoenix.)
Budgies Burritos (Vancouver, BC)
Chicago Diner (Chicago)
Crow’s Nest (Kalamazoo, MI)

El Nuevo Mexican (Chicago)
The Foundation Eatery (Vancouver, BC)
Freshii (Chicago. More locations in US, Canada, Austria and Dubai.)
The Green Owl Cafe (Madison, WI)
Heartland Cafe (Chicago)
Hub 51 (Chicago). Sonoma Salad every time.
Karyn’s on Green (Chicago)
Lean & Green (La Jolla, CA)
Loving Hut (Chicago and worldwide)
M. Henrietta (Chicago)
Mixed Greens (Chicago). Favorite lunch spot.
Monty’s Blue Plate Diner (Madison, WI)
The Naam (Vancouver, BC)
Organic Lives (Vancouver, BC). Raw desserts! Need I say more.
Protein Bar (Chicago).
Ruby Tuesday (Cadillac, MI and Rockford, IL. More US locations.) Salad bar.
Seva (Ann Arbor, MI)
Simple Cafe (Lake Geneva, IL)
Stella’s Lounge (Grand Rapids)
Three Sisters Cafe (Indianapolis)
The Vegan Foodtruck (Chicago). Pick up the September-October ’11 VegNews for vegan food trucks in the US.
Wallflower (Vancouver, BC). Huge plate of vegan nachos. Heaven.
Whole Foods more times than I can count in Evanston, Chicago, Vancouver, Detroit and La Jolla. (Locations in US, Canada and UK)

More restaurants here, here, here, and here. And finally, grocery stores everywhere sell fruits, vegetables, beans, grains, nuts and seeds. And most also sell tofu.

This list of restaurants brought back a lot of memories. We humans spend a lot of time eating and socializing. Being vegan hasn’t hindered these opportunities to gather with friends and family to enjoy a delicious meal whether I’m traveling or staying home.
