It’s easy being vegan ’cause there are veggie-friendly restaurants all over the place.
Tips for Locating Veg-Friendly Restaurants
- Give an ethnic restaurant a try. For example, Ethiopian is vegan friendly as is Indian food.
- Use Veg Guide or Happy Cow to find veg-friendly restaurants near you.

Monty’s Blue Plate Diner (Madison, WI)
The Naam (Vancouver, BC)
Organic Lives (Vancouver, BC). Raw desserts! Need I say more.
Protein Bar (Chicago).
Ruby Tuesday (Cadillac, MI and Rockford, IL. More US locations.) Salad bar.
Seva (Ann Arbor, MI)
Simple Cafe (Lake Geneva, IL)
Stella’s Lounge (Grand Rapids)
Three Sisters Cafe (Indianapolis)
The Vegan Foodtruck (Chicago). Pick up the September-October ’11 VegNews for vegan food trucks in the US.
Wallflower (Vancouver, BC). Huge plate of vegan nachos. Heaven.
Whole Foods more times than I can count in Evanston, Chicago, Vancouver, Detroit and La Jolla. (Locations in US, Canada and UK)
This list of restaurants brought back a lot of memories. We humans spend a lot of time eating and socializing. Being vegan hasn’t hindered these opportunities to gather with friends and family to enjoy a delicious meal whether I’m traveling or staying home.
