Making Vegan Easy Week 42 Round-Up

Every day in 2012 I’m posting one tip on my Facebook page to make living vegan easier. It’s going to take an army of vegans to move the world in a more compassionate direction. Join us today!

My 2012 Vision Board

Tip #284 from Facebook friend, Dawn: I find shopping for and cleaning all of the veggies and greens on one day so they’re ready for the week helps. I also cook a pot of beans and some quinoa to have ready to throw in with sautéed veggies and greens for quick weekday dinners. Sunday is a good day to do this!

Tip #285 from Facebook friend, Amy: I have to drive a ways to get to a store that serves great vegan options, so when I do, I get a few quarts of their best soups, and a couple entrees to take home and serve as side dishes throughout the coming days. I have also found they are very willing to explain how they make the dishes, so I can try my own version at home. It has become my version of “take out.”

Tip #286 from Facebook friend, Elizabeth: I would say get some veggie friends! It’s easier when you have support. I was vegetarian for probably 15 years before I had any like minded friends and it can be very isolating to feel so alone in your beliefs. Meetup.com is a good way to meet new peeps. I’ve met great vegan friends through that site.

Tip #287: VegNews hosts a “Rock the Vote” Twitter chat tonight. Check it out to learn which candidates are the most compassionate choices. (Transcripts are usually available online after the fact if you missed the event.)

Tip #288: Every meal matters. Make it count for your health, the planet and, of course, for the animals.

Tip #289 from Facebook friend, Mickey: Use vegweb.com to find vegan recipes. What is your favorite website to find vegan recipes? Share below to help the newbies!

Tip #290: Another good Halloween candy list. This one from Mercy for Animals.

Tip #291: And one more vegan Halloween candy guide from VegNews.
