At $13.99 for six ounces (which is more than $37 per pound!), I was expecting a spectacular and delicious non-dairy alternative. Perhaps my expectations were too high. The nut cheese tasted fresh just like the package claimed, but I found it bland and not very cheesy. I expected more flavor considering truffle oil, dill and chive were some of the ingredients. I don’t like to dis companies making an effort to produce vegan products. I also don’t want vegans to waste their money. Instead, I suggest you buy Artisan Vegan Cheeseand make your own. I have had a lot of success with these recipes and they taste more like cheese than this Kite Hill Cassucio.
Another recipe book you might want to try is The Non-Dairy Formulary: Vegan Cuisine for the Ethical Gourmet.I cannot recommend this book yet, but I have it on order and as soon as I have tried some recipes, I’ll be sure to let you know.
